The Master Cleanse Summary

The Master Cleanse, aka the Lemon Cleanse, the Maple Syrup Diet, or the Lemonade Diet was formerly produced by Stanley Burroughs in 1941 as a means of elimination the body of harmful toxins but is also considered a WEIGHT LOSS different. The routine is simple. Drink lemonade for 10 days & eat NOTHING!

What’s so hard about it? It’s mostly the cravings. Minutes without food may seem like days. The excellent news is that the cravings LESSEN as you progress through the quick since of the nutrients from the lemonade & the flow of toxins.

THE CLEANSE

  • 2 tablespoons of fresh organic lemon or lime juice, (approximately half a lemon)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 10 ounces filtered water

Do not use bottled lemon juice and make sure the maple syrup is grade B organic. More pepper is better for refining purposes and use only spring, distilled, or purified water. Mix the ingredients together & drink it hot or cold day and night. Drink 6-12 servings per day and try to stay on the cleanse for 10-20 days or more. Consume NOTHING else other than herbal tea but no vitamins, no other juice, no probiotics, etc. (Burroughs recommends a excellent mint tea.)

LAXATIVE TEA

Since there is no intake of solid food, steps are taken to avoid constipation. Drink senna tea or any laxative tea like Traditional Medicinal’s Smooth Go (no plug intended) EVERY night during the duration of the cleanse.

SALT WATER FLUSH

  • 2 level teaspoons sea salt (uniodized, celtic sea salt is better)
  • 1 quart of unenthusiastic water

This is the most fascinating part. In the morning a warm saline “salt water flush” is vital. The salt water passes through the digestive system promptly & causes defecation in 30-60 minutes & lasts for 2 hours. This oral enema will flush out your entire digestive tract and colon from top to bottom, prompting you to eliminate numerous times, defrayal out the plaque and debris from the walls, and even parasites. Warning: you will factually “piss out your ass” but don’t be alarmed. This is NORMAL, but PLEASE be near a toilet! Don’t drive, swim, or ballroom dance, since “when you gotta go, you gotta go.”

BREAKING THE Quick

  • Day 1: orange juice (4 oz. freshly squeezed mixed w/ 4 oz. water)
  • Day 2: orange juice (breakfast & lunch)

VEGETABLE SOUP (dinner)

*Use leafy and root vegetables like beets & beet tops, turnips & turnip greens, kale, carrots, onions, parsley, celery, potatoes, & okra.

1-2 kinds of legumes or squash
sea salt
cayenne pepper
Arid vegetables or veggy powder may be added for flavor (no MSG or hydrolyzed protein).

Cook the soup. Drink the broth, & eat only a few bites of the vegetables. Don’t use canned soups. A few rye off your rocker can also be eaten.

  • Day 3: orange juice (breakfast), vegetable soup (For lunch & dinner have some more soup with some of the vegetables.)
  • Day 4: orange juice (breakfast); fruits, veggies, seed, & nuts (lunch); salad & fruit (dinner)
  • Day 5: Eat naturally, but try to eat live foods & grains, etc.

Go off of the cleanse SLOWLY. Gut flora needs to re-renovate and mucus linings needs to re-build. Some individuals have broken the quick in 1 day without any problems, but this is rare and not recommended. (Burroughs himself recommends a minimum of 10 days to break the quick.) If distress or gas occurs, go back to the lemonade diet for a few days until the system is ready for food.

PROBIOTICS

It is elemental to take probiotics AFTER you end breaking your cleanse to exchange the excellent bacteria you lose when you clean your colon thoroughly. Why, since the bacteria promotes healthful digestion, boosts the immune system, & manufactures vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B12, and K and help hegemony terrible bacteria, such as Candida. Don’t take the probiotics during the cleanse. They’ll just get washed out. Do it after. Need probiotics quick? Try kefir, kombucha tea, miso paste, sauerkraut, yogurt, or probiotic supplements from your local health food store.

Synopsis

That’s it! Keep in mind that the Master Cleanse is a detox plot & NOT really a weight loss plot. For further info read Stanley Burroughs’s book, The Master Cleanser or just google it. This article is just a primer of one man’s extensive research. If you are unsure at any time consult a licensed healthcare practitioner. The master cleanse synopsis is opinion only and should always be considered informational not health check advice.
